New CCNP, CCIP, and CCDP Certification Training Courses ROUTE,
SWITCH and TSHOOT available
On the 25th of January 2010, Cisco® announced
changes to the CCNP/CCIP and CCDP certification tracks’ courses.
These changes ensure that the knowledge and skills gained through
these courses accurately reflect what professional network
engineers should possess. More emphasis is placed on security,
complex routing and switching (such as support for branch offices
and mobile workers), and voice and video services.
These new courses will be available from
Global Knowledge, Cisco’s Global Learning Partner of the Year,
starting 1st of February 2010:
In
ROUTE - Implementing Cisco IP Routing v1.0,
administrators of medium-to-large network sites will learn to use
advanced routing to provide scalability for Cisco routers that are
connected to LANs and WANs. Students will practice implementing
techniques in hands-on labs, learning to dramatically increase the
number of routers and sites instead of redesigning the network when
additional sites or wiring configurations are added.
In
SWITCH - Implementing Cisco Switched Networks v1.0,
students will learn to plan, configure, and verify the
implementation of complex enterprise switching solutions for campus
environments using the Cisco Enterprise Campus Architecture.
In
TSHOOT - Troubleshooting and Maintaining Cisco IP
Networks, students will gain the skills needed to
maintain complex networks and to diagnose and resolve network
problems quickly and effectively. Students will learn
troubleshooting and maintenance procedures, and they will reinforce
the concepts by putting them to use in a controlled lab
environment.
The new ROUTE and SWITCH courses replace the BSCI and BCMSN
courses, respectively. TSHOOT is a new course made up of
approximately 70% hands-on lab scenarios focusing on
troubleshooting skills. ISCW and ONT will be withdrawn.
